Greasers… Ugh. They’re the worst.
Greased lacrosse balls are a fact of life as a lacrosse player. A greased ball is better than no ball, but you’d never want to play with a greaser in a game, and practice isn’t much different.
And once a ball turns into a greaser, it’s over…
…until now. Introducing the Buddy Grinder – our weapon in the lifelong battle for lacrosse ball integrity.
As you might imagine, this inflicts some damage on the ball — you’re grinding the greaser ball against rocks in order to remove the slick top layer — so they certainly won’t be “like new” once they’ve gone through the process.
But the ball that emerges is grippier and considerably better to play with than the greaser you started with.
Not particularly difficult — anyone can do it, although it is a great forearm workout.
Of course. We thought of this product while messing around in our local Ace, and all the materials can be found at your local hardware store.
True to our Backyard ethos, the Buddy Grinder takes common hardware store materials and repurposes them to help solve a problem.
The Buddy Grinder consists of two PVC fittings, one filled with river rock, and allows a player to grind the ball against the rock bed and remove the top layer of grime.
All inputs are made right here in the USA.
